Viking’s New Second-Generation 70 Convertible

Viking Yacht Company has introduced renderings and details for its new 70 Convertible, a second-generation model that builds on the New Jersey builder’s long-running sport-fishing heritage while incorporating many of the lessons learned from its latest flagship convertibles.

The 70 features a redesigned hull with a narrower beam, revised running surface and updated chines and strakes intended to improve efficiency and ride quality. The cockpit has also been lengthened to provide more working room, while the flybridge receives a redesigned helm with improved visibility and updated seating arrangements.

Owners can choose between MAN V12X 2200 or MTU 12V2000 M96Z engines, which should push the new 70 to a top speed of approximately 43 knots. Courtesy Viking Yacht Company

Belowdecks, the new 70 offers four staterooms, including a full-beam master stateroom, along with a crew stateroom that has private engine room access. Owners can choose between MAN V12X 2200 or MTU 12V2000 M96Z engines, with Viking targeting performance comparable to its latest 68 Convertible, which reaches about 43 knots. 

The Viking 70 is scheduled to make its world debut at the 2026 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show and will be offered in Open Bridge, Enclosed Bridge and Sky Bridge configurations.
