For Sale: Offshore Yachts 85 Voyager

Lucky Lady, an Offshore Yachts 85 Voyager, is currently listed with Luke Brown Yachts for $2.395 million. The 2007 build is a long-range cruiser with a semi-displacement hull form, three staterooms and a layout aimed at comfortable family sojourns.

Designed for bluewater passages, the Offshore Yachts 85 Voyager is constructed with hand-laminated fiberglass using bi-directional and uni-directional Knytex as well as Kevlar vacuum-bagged core-cell sandwich construction above the waterline, ensuring strength without excessive weight. The yacht’s hull is solid fiberglass below the waterline with ISO and vinylester resin.

Twin 1,360 hp MAN D2842 LE 423 diesels power Lucky Lady to a reported 13-knot cruising speed and a 17-knot top-end speed. These powerplants, along with the 85-footer’s 3,500-gallon fuel capacity and its efficient hull design, combine to make the 85 Voyager a shortlist contender for long-range cruisers.

According to Luke Brown Yachts, “The name Offshore and naval architect Bill Crealock have been at the forefront of the semi-displacement and planing hull designs for over three decades. To appreciate this statement, one must go back to the mid-fifties, when Bill Crealock started to design the deep-V forefoot hull shapes, which quickly were recognized for excellent performance as well as gentle, easy motion and moderate beam, yielding efficient fuel burn at all cruising speeds.”

Volume and warmth are two words that come to mind when surveying the 85 Voyager’s fully carpeted salon with satin-wood finishes. Seating includes a six-person L-shaped sofa to starboard with two onyx marble-top coffee tables and two club chairs to port with matching ottomans. The salon also has a retractable, 45-inch Sharp Aquos TV, a wet bar with sink and U-line wine cooler.

Chefs will appreciate the well-equipped and enclosed galley forward of the salon. It’s set up for long-term provisioning space thanks to a 20-cubic-foot Sub-Zero refrigerator, and a 4.6-cubic-foot under-counter, two-drawer freezer. There’s also a Thermador convection oven, GE microwave, black ceramic cooktop with granite backsplash and granite countertops. There is more passagemaking-provisioning space in the galley’s numerous drawers and cabinets. There’s also custom pot, pan and dish stowage, a new Asko dishwasher, a Broan trash compactor, an integrated solid-wood cutting board, a stainless-steel sink with Grohe faucet, an InSinkErator hot water and soap dispenser and a garbage disposal with air switch.

When it comes to alfresco dining, guests can choose between the cockpit arrangement with a bench seat, twin tables and loose chairs set under the flybridge overhang, or head to the upper-deck with side-by-side L-shaped sofas, twin tables and loose chairs in the open section of the flybridge aft. All the way aft is a davit and tender stowage for the Novurania RIB. In the enclosed section of the flybridge, guests will find additional dinette seating abaft the three-seat helm station.

To enjoy some quietude, the foredeck has bench seating for a few guests.

Sleeping accommodations for Lucky Lady are belowdecks, including the owners’ stateroom amidships with a walkaround king berth, cedar-lined hanging stowage, a 38-inch flat-screen TV, sound-padded carpet and en suite head with a granite sole and countertops. The forepeak VIP stateroom has a queen berth, flat-screen TV and an en suite head. The final guest stateroom is abaft the forepeak VIP and has a queen berth that converts to two twins, making it a great space for the kids. It also has stowage, a flat-screen TV and an en suite head.

Some other notable features on board Lucky Lady include a crew quarters, two 32 kW Northern Lights generators (Gen1 has 5,866 hours and gen2 has 5,905 hours), seven flat-screen TVs, 24-inch Garmin chart plotter, 2022, Furuno Digital dome radar, a Raymarine E120 Navionics E-Series and Autohelm Series ST 8002 Smart Helm autopilot, a Furuno depth sounder, two Icom IC M602 VHFs, an Icom IC M802 SSB and a Pepwave cellular modem.
