Southerly has had a full update to her electrical system at the Grand Banks Stuart service yard in 2025, which allows her to be self-sufficient off the dock without having to run the generator full time. The new lithium batteries are charged by the upgraded main engine alternators and solar panels. The air conditioning now runs through the inverter at night without the generator most of the time, making this a highly efficient long-range cruiser.
