Tami Ann, a 2021 Viking 72 Convertible, is tournament-ready sport-fisherman with bluewater toughness, speed and luxe touches. Twin 2,635 hp MTU diesels push this 72C to 45 knots. Tami Ann has a four-stateroom, five-head layout and is asking. $7.475 million.

“Viking owners use their vessels. As a regular tournament fisherman, I’ve seen these yachts in large numbers from New Jersey to Costa Rica. To handle the rigors of regular runs to distant canyons where the seas can be as challenging as the fish being chased, Viking builds the 72C with a vacuum-infused fiberglass hull. Baltek end-grain balsa core and Airex foam core add strength without weight. Her fine entry and planing hull form make her seakindly too,” Yachting previously reported.

The business end of this 2021 Viking 72C is its 209-square-foot cockpit. To accommodate the angling arsenal, there are 10 rod holders on aft bridge rail, six rod holders on aft tower legs and a tackle center. In-deck fish boxes will hold the biggest bigeye tuna, or they can be used as livewells to hold all the day’s goggle-eyes. Two quick-connects in the cockpit scuppers can be used to add on-deck livewells, a bonus for live-bait, kite-fishing aficionados during sailfish season. Dead-bait freezer space in the mezzanine will hold enough ballyhoo, mullet and mackerel for several tournaments.

Some of this Viking 72C’s cockpit amenities include:

  • 47′ Rupp hydraulic outriggers
  • Rupp center rigger
  • Miya Epoch US9 HD teaser reels

Even more can grab a drink from the refrigerated drink box and relax on cushioned bench-style seats to port, starboard and forward the helm while running out to the fishing grounds. A large freezer on the flybridge can be used to stow extra bait. some of the helm equipment includes:

Entering the salon, there is an L-shaped Drewberry sofa and walnut coffee table to port, along with an entertainment center to starboard. An array of windows allow for natural light to flow through the salon and galley, but when the sun becomes a little overpowering, guests can easily close the electric blinds. The salon is outfitted with a day head, adding convenience during the fishing day.

The open galley is to port and forward the salon. Three cushioned bar stools sit across the counter with a dinette to starboard. With broad countertop space, meal prep is a seamless operation. With the addition of a four-burner surface-mount range and conventional oven, just about any meal can be created during an angling adventure. Under-counter Sub-Zero refrigeration and freezer drawers allow for plenty of stowage for cold goods, as well as dry goods in a pantry forward.
