“Everything you need to know about the Ocean Alexander 70e is summed up in that “e” tacked on so casually to the end of the name,” Yachting previously reported. “It stands for Evolution, an apt descriptor for this 70-footer…”
“So what’s new? Well, start with the Volvo Penta IPS pod drives. This is the first OA with pods, and the setup reflects the modern thinking that went into this yacht. The 70e is also the first Ocean Alexander built in the United States. And mega-yacht designer Evan K. Marshall, working with Ocean Alexander U.S. Director Richard Allender, achieved several evolutionary changes.”

Atlantic Yacht & Ship Inc. currently has Sunny Seajay, a 2021 Ocean Alexander 70e, listed and asking $3.45 million.
Sunny Seajay’s outside entertainment spaces are abundant. Guests can choose shaded alfresco dining in the cockpit with bench seating and a fixed table aft or select the dinette to starboard under the flybridge hardtop. There’s a wraparound settee and table on the after section of the flybridge for a fully open-air dining experience too.The foredeck has a three-person sun pad and bench seat for catching rays.

The multi-tiered main deck is split into three distinct zones, dictated by a simple step up. The aft lounge area has a sofa to port and an L-shaped settee with an ottoman to starboard. Forward and up a step are floating stairs to port leading to the flybridge. The galley is to starboard, which is equipped with an array of appliances, including:
Farther forward is a helm station and formal dining area. An L-shaped dinette offers a comfortable dining nook under the raked windshield with two Stidd helm chairs adjacent to it.
When it’s time to turn in for the evening, four staterooms are belowdecks and sleep up to eight guests. Amidships, the full-beam master stateroom has a king berth and an en suite head. Forward to starboard is an en suite guest stateroom with side-by-side berths. The guest stateroom to port has over-under berths. The forepeak VIP guest stateroom has an island berth with en suite head.

Ocean Alexander went to great lengths to create robust sound attenuation. High-density structural foam allows for high temperature resistance and an advantage in thermal and acoustic insulation. A marine-grade aluminum beam provides greater rigidity, reduces movements and “abrasive” sounds while underway. The builder also utilized multiple insulation barriers, including reflective materials, absorptive materials, dampening materials, air pockets and flexible Isolation mounts. Additionally, the Ocean Alexander reinforced the collision bulkhead and used its infusion lamination manufacturing technology on all fiberglass.
Power for this Ocean Alexander 70e comes from twin 1,000 hp Volvo Penta IPS 1350 diesels, which give the yacht an 18-knot fast cruise and a 28-knot top hop. Slowing to 10 knots increases range to 980 nautical miles.
Some other notable features on board Sunny Seajay include:
Where is Sunny Seajay located? The yacht is currently lying in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
