Nimbus Opens Up the Sport Weekender 42

Nimbus has taken the roof off its Sport Weekender 42, replacing the model’s T-top with a fixed glass-fiber targa arch for a more open-air experience. The new Sport Weekender 42 Open debuted at the Cannes Yachting Festival and can be configured covered, shaded or completely open as conditions change.

The targa arch draws inspiration from Nimbus’ 32 Ballista, a 40-knot daycruiser that was in the lineup from 1990 to 2005. Beneath the updated silhouette, the 42 retains its twin-stepped hull, spacious aft lounge, folding side balcony and accommodations for four in two double cabins.

Power comes from twin Mercury Verado V8 300s or optional V10 425s, with the latter combination pushing the 41-footer past 45 knots.
