Mulder Design in the Netherlands—a firm that typically focuses on yachts up to about 200 feet length overall—has released a concept for a 377-footer dubbed White Coral.
“We decided to really show what we can do and chose 115 meters—a different league not only for the features a yacht can include, but also the beautiful complexity that her exterior design can convey,” company owner Bas Mulder stated in a press release. “We wanted to show that far from being just technical designers, we can offer our skills and experience of creating stunning exterior designs at any size of yacht that consider interior demands and thereby perfectly fuse function and form.”
White Coral grew out of concept sketches that the firm presented at the Monaco Yacht Show, and that drew the attention of an interested client.
The yacht would have a foredeck helipad with an under-deck hangar, a beach club that’s 60 feet wide with opening hull doors to create terraces, and Mulder’s signature vertical mast shape, which is an element the firm has used for more than a quarter century.

People like classic proportions, and they have certain expectations. Our exterior designs aim to meet those classic proportions, then exceed those expectations.”
Yacht owners often tap the Mulder firm for naval architecture and general arrangements plans. With the White Coral concept, the team wanted to show that it can also create what it calls “stunning exterior designs” for superyachts.
The naval architecture and engineering will be completed elsewhere, Mulder added, but the company’s “holistic understanding of those elements ensures a project which is not only aesthetically stunning, but also firmly rooted in reality. That is the Mulder way.”
What does Bas Mulder think about when he’s designing a superyacht? “I always try to bring it back to balance,” he says. “Once you have the flow of the hull and superstructure, you can start adding more detail, such as smaller shapes or key motifs and style elements, sharp angles or rounded features. That way, you can more easily adapt to any client’s individual taste while ensuring the overall design is at its core harmonious.”
