Dutch yacht and superyacht builder Holterman Shipyard recently debuted its Xtreme X-65 model at the Hiswa te Water boat show in Lelystad, Netherlands. The yacht will soon be delivered to its new owner for cruising in Northern European waters and Norwegian fjords.

According to an emailed news release from Holterman, the X-65 boasts steel construction for its hull and supestructure, spacious storage areas, innovative exterior elements and an interior featuring a double-height lower salon-cum-office. Its interior layout –tailored to its owner’s requests– includes a split-level living area and aft galley equipped with seating.

A roomy dining area at main deck level overlooks an atrium-style lower salon with an office area and TV lounge. The centerline helm sits at the forward end of the salon and overlooks the lower lounge. Additionally, the lower salon’s TV lounge converts into an extra double berth to accommodate extra guests.

“The owner really wanted that lofty lower saloon area where he could have an office for work – the plan was that he could work while cruising and as a result extend his trips and cruises on the boat,” said exterior designer Bernd Weel in the release.

Bernd Weel Design is the studio behind the design of all Holterman’s Xtreme range of yachts. Trimm Design was responsible for the X-65’s naval architecture and Kitty van der Kamp worked on the yacht’s interior design.

Bernd said in the release that the X-65’s design was inspired by similar Xtreme models. The long glass recess in the hull and superstructure are very similar to those found on the X-78, and the line of the top on top of the bulwark is similar across all Xtreme models.

The X-65 has an adaptable layout and is highly customizable. The rest of the lower deck is split between a grandiose full-beam master stateroom with an en suite head amidships and a generous forward VIP stateroom with access to a second head and shower.

An aft garage, comparable to the yacht’s larger siblings, creates a stowage area for electric scooters, bicycles, water toys and other gear and equipment. The foredeck has seating and a dinette, plus forward-facing seats that convert to a sun pad.

The X-65 has twin 300 hp Volvo-Penta D6 diesels engines and is reportedly capable of 12-knot top hop. The vessel has an 18-foot-4-inch beam, a 4-foot and about an 88,620-pound displacement.

The X-65 blends luxury and performance to be capable of tackling ambitious long-range cruising adventures.

“He had a dream to cruise the Norwegian fjords, and for that you need a really robust boat, which the 65 is – she has a steel, round-bilge hull, which is not only incredibly strong but which also offers a low center of gravity which means she will be a very stable and comfortable boat,” Weel said.
