GX42 Launches Ahead of Monaco Debut

GX Superyachts has launched the first GX42, the 138-foot flagship of its developing range, just two years after the brand was introduced at the Monaco Yacht Show. The yacht is now entering final outfitting and sea trials ahead of her world premiere at this year’s show.

Developed by the team behind Greenline Yachts, the GX42 brings more than 15 years of hybrid-propulsion and energy-management experience into the superyacht sector. Her parallel diesel-electric hybrid system is paired with integrated solar arrays and a large lithium battery bank. According to the builder, the yacht can operate in zero-emissions mode for up to 48 hours at anchor and reduce onboard electricity consumption by as much as 45 percent.

Italian designer Marco Casali created both the exterior and interior, with an emphasis on clean architectural lines, natural materials and spaces geared toward extended cruising and family use. The yacht was built in collaboration with SES Yachts in Turkey, with Specialist Marine providing technical consultancy throughout the design, engineering and production phases.

The GX42 is the first model in a planned range spanning 79 to 184 feet. Her public debut is scheduled for the Monaco Yacht Show 2026.
