Baglietto launch 41m superyacht DOM 133 L’INSTANT: the first hybrid in the range and the first launch of 2025

DATE POSTED:January 27, 2025

Last week Baglietto hosted their first launch of 2025 when 40.6m (133’2″) superyacht DOM 133 L’INSTANT (hull 10252) hit the water in La Spezia. With exterior design from Stefano Vafiadis and interiors created by Leonardo Santi, this is first hull in the DOM 133 range to feature interposed hybrid propulsion.

The system has a diesel endothermic engine and ultra-compact hybrid unit which works alongside two Caterpillar C32 ACERT engines, compatible with bio-fuel from renewable sources. The performance underway reduces CO2 emissions by up to 90%, offer noiseless cruising and superior consumption on long-range cruises. High-density battery-packs also give nine hours at anchor with zero emissions and silent operation. This unit can reach a maximum speed of 17 knots when using the diesel engines and almost 10 knots in the full electric mode.

The propulsion system uses more technical space on board, so the layout has been adapted to maximise guest space. The galley has been moved to the lower deck and replaced by a VIP cabin which, like the master stateroom, has automated windows to optimise natural ventilation and air exchange. The custom-made opening portholes in the guest cabins on the lower deck serve the same purpose.

Access around the yacht has been reconfigured to effectively connect all decks up to the sundeck where there is now a multi-purpose bar and convenient dumbwaiter. The pool area has been replaced by a fully equipped outdoor gym to suite the owner’s lifestyle.

The interior design continues the focus on sustainability by utilising carpets and fabrics created from recycled ocean plastic. Neutral shades with touches of turquoise have been chosen by the owner to create a warm and elegant atmosphere. Light eucalyptus, walnut and Italian furnishings add to the beauty of the whole interior.

The upper deck provides storage for the 5.8m tender and two jet skis where a special 16 Kn (1600 kg capacity) davit has been installed for easy hauling and launching.

Baglietto is expected to launch as many as eight new yachts this year, making 2025 an exciting year for the shipyard and new owners alike.
