The owners of 29m (95’4″) explorer yacht PAPILLON were delighted to engage with Bering Yachts founder Alexei Mikhailov and offer Yachts for Science and Mission Blue the opportunity to use the motor yacht on a research expedition.

The team of researchers were kept safe and comfortable on board as they conducted their marine conservation work in Silver Bank, Dominican Republic – a protected breeding and calving area for the North Atlantic humpback whale. The team were keen to document their work and travelled with a team of photographers and videographers who captured footage as they collected DNA samples, identified individual whales and swam amongst these majestic creatures.
